Miss Wisconsin, A Kampo Family Venture

Daniel is a third generation ice-boater and has spent years on Lake Winnebago. His father gave him his first iceboat ride when he was six. His children share his passion and enjoy their Nites on ice and dry lakes.

Accustomed to speed, Daniel held SCCA and USAC competition licenses for many years. He competed successfully driving in a series of different classes, most notably Formula A and A Sport racers. He raced throughout his division in Sports Car Club of America events and also competed in the Canadian-American (Can-Am) Challenge Cup Series. He achieved several firsts in his division and participated in the Road Race of Champions in Atlanta.

Daniel started flying when he was sixteen and is an instrument rated pilot. He has had a long-time membership in the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) and a continuing fascination with aerodynamics and the principals of flight. This knowledge and association has helped him envision the ultimate ice yacht. He also holds a glider rating and has used his knowledge of non-powered flight in designing the Miss Wisconsin. The World Headquarters of EAA is located in Oshkosh near the shores of Lake Winnebago. The vast resources of EAA and dedicated members have provided the technical expertise and inventive creativity to bring this project from the drawing board to reality.
